What if some of our greatest creations were tossed out before they were finished? The process of creating art that can communicate something intrinsic or eternal is one of work, and rework, and work again.
Romans 8:28 (NIV) says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
To be fair, not every single idea we have is going to be our greatest achievement or contribution. But does that mean that God cannot use it? Is it wasted? What if instead of giving up on that idea of yours, you were patient enough to see how God could use it?
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
Through art, we can use the temporal to translate the eternal.
Most of us likely limit “art” in our minds to only those things fortunate enough to be found in a gallery or museum. But what if you approached everything you did from the perspective and intentionality of an artist?
Today, think of how God can use the temporal things in your life to communicate eternal things. It could be your work, your ministry, your time. Approach it from the mindset of a master craftsman creating something that could last forever.
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, I pray that I would give the temporal things in my life the attention and care to become something eternal and intrinsic in Your hands. Give me a revelation of how You waste nothing in my life. I know You use everything in my life to work for my good and for Your glory. Would all I create and everything I do honor You and be for Your kingdom. Amen.
“Through art, we can use the temporal to translate the eternal.”
