Don’t chase the celebration of your gift.
Colossians 3:17 (NIV) says, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
We probably all have had moments where, for whatever reason, we’ve slipped into seeking other people’s praise, admiration, or even approval.
But what could your life, your calling, and your gifting look like if you truly sought to only please God?
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
The hard reality is, if we are operating from a place of seeking others’ praise or celebration, we probably aren’t operating from a place of doing everything in the name of Jesus and for the glory of God.
But the good news is this: it’s not too late. We can always start fresh—right now—with a renewed perspective and purity of heart that all we do in this life is for God and for His glory.
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, forgive me for times that I have cared about other people’s praise more than pleasing You. Give me the wisdom to live my life for Your glory. May my whole life be lived for the name of Jesus. Thank You, God. Amen.
“Don’t chase the celebration of your gift.”
