Dictate Your Praise

Don’t let your circumstances dictate your praise.

Psalm 34:1 (NIV) says, “I will extol the Lord at all times: His praise will always be on my lips.”

Circumstances are just that, circumstantial. They constantly change, they are ever-shifting. We’ve all experienced changing circumstances, but have you allowed these to dictate the praise you bring God? Has your praise been silenced because of life’s highs or lows?

SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)

We often associate praise with how we are feeling, but what if we saw it as a choice we need to make? What if our praise was a constant declaration regardless of what our circumstances cause us to experience?

Decide today to praise God because of who He is. Unlike our circumstances, He is never changing, always faithful, and always good.

PRAYER (Pray this out loud)

Lord, I commit to praising You in every season life offers me. May praise be a pillar in my life that always lifts You to the top of my priorities and focus. Just as You are always the same, teach me consistency in my praise. You are worthy of all my praise. I pray my circumstances wouldn’t dictate my praise, but that my praise would be constant regardless of my circumstances. Amen.

“Don’t let your circumstances dictate your praise.”
