How to Wait Well

Whether this season has a full calendar and a long list of to-dos, or whether you find yourself in one of those “in-between” times in life, waiting is usually somehow part of the equation. We all can grow in how we wait.

Scripture says, “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)

The Hebrew word for “wait” in this passage can also be translated to “expect”. So it could be said, the Lord is good to those who expect Him.

In your waiting season, are you expecting God?

SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)

We often think of waiting in very different terms—like sitting impatiently, standing in line, or longing for that “one day when”, but what if you saw waiting as an opportunity to expect God?

That is definitely one of the ways we can prepare in times and seasons of waiting.

PRAYER (Pray this out loud)

Lord, remind me that You are with me in every season of life. In times of waiting, help me to seek You first. Thank You that I can put my hope and expectation in You. You are always faithful and always good. Amen.

“In your waiting, prepare.”
