Life is a Gift

Often our circumstances, difficulties, or perspective can cause us to forget that life is a gift and it’s too precious to waste.

John 10:10 (NIV) says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

The truth is that life is a gift from God. This doesn’t mean we’ll never face challenges, but it does help us have a perspective anchored in truth. What could the rest of your week look like if you approached it with the mindset of not being owed anything by life, but recognizing the beautiful gift that life can be when it’s found in Christ?

SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)

Whether in joy or hardship, whether in ease or difficulty, we can take comfort in the truth that Jesus came that we may have life–life eternally but also life with Him here and now.

And if we have life with him now (and forever), we can have it to the fullest–no matter what we face, because He is always with us.

PRAYER (Pray this out loud)

Lord, thank You for the gift of life. Thank You that You came to give us life and life abundantly. When circumstances shape my perspective, help me remember that You are worth living for and that nothing compares to life lived with You and in You. Amen.

“Life is a gift and it’s too precious to waste.”
