James 4:8 (NKJV) says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

Sometimes the simplicity of this verse can be one of the hardest things to practically outwork. 

Are there things (circumstances, challenges, maybe even comforts?) that keep you from “drawing close”? 

SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)

The good news is, God is much closer than we think. And no matter how you feel (or how you have lived), He longs for you to turn to Him and draw close again and again. 

He is not hard to find either, and seeking Him comes with a promise: He’s also seeking you.

Take a moment, even now, and draw close to Him… to spend time worshiping Him, to intentionally enter into nearness with Him, and see how He draws near to you. 

PRAYER (Pray this out loud)

Lord, I want to be close to You. Help me be intentional about time with You and remind me of Your Presence in the midst of my day-to-day life. Thank You for Your Word and the promises found in it. Shape the year ahead with a special sense of Your Presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
