One of the simplest truths of following Jesus is also one of the easiest to forget: God is for you.
Romans 8:31 (ESV) says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
We can all attest how easy it is to approach life in our own efforts. Whether it be relationships, work, hobbies or passions, we can easily fall into the trap of thinking that we should simply do our best and just leave it at that.
But what if we had the revelation that God is for us? Of course, we still should do our best. But with this perspective, our every effort can be built on the truth that God is for us.
What if you approached everything in your life from this perspective?
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
God is for you. This simple, yet powerful, reminder can transform all the things we put our hands to. More than this, it can permeate every aspect of our lives. In struggles or circumstances that we find challenging, God is for us. In blessing and in seasons of ease, we are reminded all the same.
There is no stipulation, God is simply for us.
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, thank You for the reminder that You are for me. When I forget it, may the truth come flooding back to my memory. If I begin to do things in my own strength, remind me to lean into Your strength instead. Thank You that this truth isn’t based on my own merit or skill, but instead it is grounded in Your character and love. I know You are for me. Amen.
