Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT) says, “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
If we’re honest, sometimes we can approach life with the opposite mindset of what this verse says. We can try to knock down every door, clear every pathway for our calling, and make every opportunity happen for ourselves.
Scripture teaches us that God prepares the way for His people. In light of this, we can know that our God-given assignments in life are prepared for us by Him. We can rest in the knowledge that God is the one who will open the right doors at exactly the right time.
Calling is always initiated by God, so why should we fear that we are missing out on what He has for us?
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
Today, instead of worrying about whether the things God has placed on your heart will come to pass, continue to look to God—the One who has given these things to us in the first place. As you continue to seek Him and place your trust in His guiding and leading, He will open the right doors at the right time. He promises to go before us!
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, I thank You that You go before me. Thank You for the plan and purpose You have placed on my life. I know that You have prepared the way before me and that You walk with me through every season. Today I choose to trust that You will open the right doors at the right time. Give me faith to trust Your timing and patience to not lose heart as I wait on You. I know that you are faithful in all things. Amen.
