Creativity requires courage.
Psalm 31:24 (NLT) says, “So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!”
Creativity and courage go together because they are both tied to vulnerability. To choose to do something creative or courageous is to be vulnerable.
Are you fearful when you create? Do you worry about being rejected or misunderstood? What if your creativity is actually starving for some courage?
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
Throughout Scripture, God is often reminding His people to be strong and courageous. This is true of all of life, but its absolutely true of our creativity as well.
When we have all our hope in the Lord, we are filled with fresh courage again. When we hope in the Lord for creative endeavors, or work, or school, ministry, relationships, or whatever it may be, God will fill us with the courage required for those things.
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, show me what true strength looks like. Teach me to practice vulnerability in the work You have for me. Help me place all my hope in You alone, not in my own ability. Give me the strength and courage that comes from a relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
