Humility Brings Wonder

When there is a continual intentionality in putting others first, something special happens in our families, churches, friend groups, frisbee-golf communities, and local dog walking groups…

OK, those last two were a little specific, and slightly a joke, but only slightly… You get the idea.

Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV) says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

What would our creative communities and churches look like if they were marked by a distinct humility like this?

SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)

Humility opens you up to wonder.

When we get overly focused on our part, we miss out on the wonder of what we are a part of. Make an intentional decision today to put someone else first and see the wonder in walking out Scripture in action.

PRAYER (Pray this out loud)

Lord, help me have a heart to serve others; to put others’ interests before my own. Give me a fresh humility to love and honor others, and to seek out what is best for the people you have put around me. Amen.

“Humility opens you up to wonder”
