Do not be discouraged in your waiting.
Psalm 27:14 (ESV) says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
We have all been in seasons where it is easy to be discouraged. This is especially true in our waiting. The Bible even says that, “a hope deferred makes the heart sick.” How are you doing in your “waiting”? Is it a struggle while you wait? Are you possibly discouraged or disheartened? Despite this, we’re called to wait on the Lord. This is how we wait well.
So, how do we reconcile being in a waiting season and the fact that we should wait well?
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
Ultimately, waiting will always be a struggle if we are not waiting on God first and foremost. The only way to reconcile our heartache in deferred hope is to obey God—to wait on Him. Do not hope in the things of this world, or even the good desires of your own heart. Hope in the Lord and find the strength that He promises while you wait.
God is faithful, He always comes through, and He’s worth waiting on. Do not be discouraged in your waiting.
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, help me as I wait on You. Calm my heart and give me strength and courage that only comes from You. I submit my own will and desires at Your feet. Have Your way in my life, and give me faith to see that you are working in my waiting. Amen.
