Everyone worships something, whether they know it or not.
Oftentimes, without even realizing, it is possible to worship something or someone other than Jesus. It may not look like what you think it does either. Have you ever found yourself putting your trust in people in front of your trust in God?
To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with having a healthy trust in people. But when our trust in God diminishes to a point where we are looking to people, circumstances, or organizations for things that only Christ can give us, we might be unintentionally worshiping something or someone other than Him.
SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)
Everyone worships something, whether they know it or not. Take inventory of where your trust is placed today. Make a conscious decision to place your trust, first and foremost, in the Lord—looking to Him for wisdom, guidance, peace, and vision for your life.
Luke 4:8 NIV says, “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.”
PRAYER (Pray this out loud)
Lord, I place my trust wholly in You today. Remind me that You have never failed me and that You never will. I lean, not on my own understanding, but instead on You—acknowledging Your ways and submitting to them. Mark me for a life of worship and devotion to You. Thank You for Your promises. You are worthy of my worship and my trust. Amen.
“Everyone worships something, whether they know it or not.”
