A Life of Prayer

How often are you in conversation with the Lord? Does the thought of prayer ever seem difficult to you?

If we’re honest with ourselves, sometimes the idea of waking up early, or carving out time in the middle of the day, or even getting a quick prayer in before bed can seem like such a task to do.

But how could your prayer life shift if you truly knew God was listening?

SELAH (Pause, think, reflect)

Psalm 116:2 (NIV) says, “Because He turned his ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.”

You don’t need to strive for the Lord’s attention, His ear is already toward you. God is listening. He wants dialogue between you and Him. Take a moment to talk to Him about what’s on your heart. Ask Him questions, call on Him when you need help, thank Him for the blessings in your life. Prayer can be as complex or simple as you make it.

But remember this: if you draw near to God, He will draw near to you.

PRAYER (Pray this out loud)

Lord, I pray that You would help me talk with You. Tune my ear to hear Your voice. Remind my soul of Scriptures that will meet me in my time of need. As I seek You I pray that You would draw near to me. Holy Spirit, teach me and grow me in my prayer life. Amen.

“What is prayer? To put it simply, prayer is talking to God. It’s a conversation.”
